My Confessions (10) Travel Edition

Hello, hello. How are all my lovely friends and readers on this Wednesday? Me? I’ve been playing nurse maid for my husband who had surgery on Monday. (Don’t worry, he’s fine) I’ve been thinking about destinations and places to visit. You see, my confession this week is that I have never been outside of the USA. I mainly travel within New England. I’ve driven to Florida, stayed in Virginia, and Flown to California.

Other than Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Maine and Pennsylvania, — I stay home.

My Aunt lives in Hawaii, and though my parents have been there, I have not. (Can you imagine taking 4 children under 8 years old on a plane for 15 hours? Fuck that!!)

My secondary Confession is that I want to travel. There are so many places I want to go, and will go before I leave this life.

1) Finland, Sweden and Norway (My heritage)

2) I will backpack around Europe. (Ireland, Scotland, London, Amsterdam etc) I’d love to see the castles and Stonehenge, the Fairy Circles and other cool magical places

3) Australia (Except I am petrified of the spiders and snakes and other creepy crawlies they have down under)

4) Japan

5) Alaska

6) South America to see the Mayan Temples

7) Egypt to see the Pyramids

8) The islands — Antigua, Puerto Rico, etc.

I’m proud that VA and CA were with me ;0)
I’ve always wanted to go to Finland. Was afraid that if I went I wouldn’t want to come back. I have much to come back to now, but if you ever go either sign me up or stuff me in your suitcase!
I’ve been to Canada …at like 12 to play softball, so no experiencing Canada to it’s potential there!

Let’s see, I’m from NJ. I’ve also lived in Philly, NH, and TX. I’ve visited New York, Florida, Minnesota, Virginia, N. Carolina, Mass., Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut. I want to go to Montana, Italy, Germany, Amsterdam, Venezuela, Alaska, Antarctica… maybe I should just say I want to travel the World

I did visit California after high school graduation. I have to admit that I’m a homebody, but Texas comes to mind if I had to make a choice. All those cowboys, ya know;)

I’ve made that trip to Hawaii twice and it is rough. Taking little one…uh uh. *shudders**

I really loved Kauai. I wish I were there right now relaxing by the beach with a very strong drink. I’d love to go to Aruba, Italy, Spain, Europe and Egypt. I want to see those pyramids for my own eyes too!

Hum… You’re ready? Ok, I’ve been to: Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Malta, England. And then Usa: New-York, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, a town I don’t remember the name in New-Mexico, I drove on the route 66 (great memory!!). Oh and Mexico too. I think that’s about it.
Now where I want to go… China, Autralia
And I would LOVE to go back to the States.

I’ve traveled extensively in the US, but I love Hawaii, especially Kauai. I could move to Hawaii and die happy – I don’t need to leave the confines of the USA. Well, maybe Paris – after all they invented the French kiss.

Well my fabulous life of travel is almost non-existant, lol. The last vacation I took was to Florida when my now 16yr old was 2. I visited my Mom, when she lived in NYC, when I was 6. Don’t really remember anything about that trip except for the really tall buildings (I was scared they would fall on me). I made another trip to visit my Mom, when she lived in Vegas, when I was 15. This sucked because I couldn’t gamble I’ve also been to Dallas.

My dream trip would be to Dublin, Ireland and/or Scotland. I will go there before I die!

Oh dear! Where do I start? Being born and raised in Germany I’ve visited a lot of European countries, like Spain, Italy, Greece, France … to name just a few. I’ve also been in the US several times, Africa as well (Tunisia to be exact) … and by thinking about all these wonderful places, where I’ve already been (and even more those where I wasn’t so far), I have itchy feet again. Sigh.

Next on my list is Greece again – in just a few days – for our annual family gathering (YAAAAY!!!), but I’d also love to see Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, South America … to put it in a nutshell: the whole world!!!

I always wanted to go to Northern Cali and just chill. I have been all around New England, I have seen just about every main street & back road there is to see. I definitely want to see any and all ancient ruins in Europe and South America (pyramids, stonehenge, stone temples). I would also love to go to any European city and just be for a few months.
