Many of us picture famous sites, busy marketplaces, and maybe too much time spent browsing in modest boutiques when a city break comes to mind. Now, being who we are automatically stretched our curiosity outside the department shops and into the night, even if the original idea was to investigate the newest fashion trends and maybe pick up some keepsakes (for ourselves, of course!). For some of us, these visits unintentionally became a bit of a busman’s holiday. Comparatively with our experiences back in London, we were eager to discover what the adult entertainment industry was like in these global capitals.

Perhaps somewhat ironically, what most caught our attention was a common belief that these big cities seem to be moving in the same direction regarding their attitude to adult entertainment. It raises questions, does not it? Is the planet starting to seem somewhat homogeneous? These observations are a bit troubling as I work in a field that depends on some degree of transparency and visibility. What does it suggest for the future if big cities all across the world are beginning to have a more conservative attitude toward adult entertainment? Will the vivid and varied scenes we know progressively go away?

Naturally, I am aware that not everyone is drawn to this specific feature of a city’s offers. However, for those who are, let us be honest: adult travel does boost local economies in cities like London. This change is something to give thought.
